NWHR is a group of Radio Amateurs living around the north west of Hampshire and an affiliated group of the Raynet-UK organisation (https://www.raynet-uk.net/)
RAYNET was formed in 1953 following the severe East coast flooding, to provide a way of organising the valuable resource that Amateur Radio is able to provide to the community. Since then, it has grown into a very active organisation with around 2000 members, providing communication assistance on many hundreds of events each year.
The North West Hampshire group has around twenty members and meet to run technical and social events.
The technical events helps members maintain the skills in the equipment and procedures that might be required in the event of a local or national emergency for which the group might be called upon to assist the local government and emergency services. The social events speak for themselves.
